On 16 November 2015, WCT accepted subcontract works worth RM283 million from IJM Construction Sdn. Bhd for the construction and completion of the West Coast Expressway (WCE), part of Section 3 of the Main Highway Works.
WCE is a 233 kilometers expressway that will be built on the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia. It will connect Taiping, Perak to Banting in Selangor. The West Coast Expressway is planned and designed in such a way to provide connectivity to existing highways e.g. PLUS, SKVE, NKVE, NNKSB, LATAR, KESAS and etc.
WCT will be undertaking sub-contractor’s work for Section 3 – Shah Alam Expressway Interchange to NKVE/FHR2 Interchange (Part of Section 3 of Main Highway Works), which has a total length of 10.1 kilometers with dual two carriageways.
The scope of works consists of preliminaries, site clearance and earthworks, geotechnical works, construction of bridges, drainage works and box culverts, sub-base, road base and pavement, traffic signs, road markings and road furniture, utilities and services, erosion control sediment plan, environmental protection and enhancement.
