This project involves the development of an Iron Ore Distribution and Pellet Plant at Teluk Rubiah near Manjung, Perak, Malaysia. The distribution centre is designed to handle 90 MTPA (Million Tons Per Annum) of Brazilian Iron Ore and will include port facilities to unload and load ore and pellets, stockyards and palletizing complex.
The contract was awarded by Vale Malaysia Manufacturing (VMM) Sdn Bhd in July 2011 and is worth about RM115 million. The work includes earthwork, drainage, roads and pavement, slope protection works and temporary sedimentation ponds at VMM’s projects – Phase 1A (Stage 1) of Vale’s iron ore distribution centre in Teluk Rubiah, Perak, Malaysia. In July 2012, Vale also awarded a RM72.8 million Industrial Civil Work Services contract to WCT.
