On 3 July 2005, WCT Berhad together with Gamuda Berhad were awarded a project to construct the Dukhan West Highway in Doha, Qatar by the State of Qatar Public Works Authority. The contract was valued at QAR 788 million (RM784 million).
The Dukhan Highway Project involves the construction of a 43km new four-lane dual carriageway starting about one kilometer to the east of the town of Shahaniya and continuing into the existing Zekreet interchange near the Dukhan Industrial Area. The scope of work includes the construction of road works, bridge works and ancillary works to replace the existing two-lane single carriageway.
The contract period was for 24 months and WCT Berhad has a 49% stake in the project.
